Lenae McIntyre is a visually impaired woman who happens to love women and she is a dog trainer now, running her Dog training center in a small town trying to help other visually impaired people to find a companion for life after she was in such a program and found Baxter, her labrador. She used to work as a feature writer for the Nation’s News Network, but she left the media world full of betrails and back stabbs, especially coming from her former lover Traci. She’s bold, strong, beautiful, intelligent, yet not reading people quite well. She just wants to run her center, helped by Des, but she needs some funding to maker her five years plan for the center work, so she needs a local tv show for some publicity, more clients, puppy walkers and perhaps a sponsor, yet still she secretly searches for love or at least she has to face the attraction she can’t deny nor forget. „ She felt unmoored by the changes about to occur, precipitated by a need to increase the community’s awareness of her ...

Do You Dream In Color? – Insights from a girl without sight by Laurie Rubin

Image
I am in awe and ecstatic to share this wonderful life story. I started looking after articles about women with impaired vision loss and their struggle with trying to have a normal and healthy life and also that are open with their sexual desires. I found an amazing book by Laurie Rubin who happens to be a woman without sight, that loves women as her partners in life, also she’s Jewish and last but not least, she’s a famous opera singer (mezzo-soprano). She wrote an amazing autobiography „ Do You Dream In Color? – Insights from a girl without sight by Laurie Rubin ” and this will certainly be my next beautiful read. It can be found here : https://www.amazon.com/Do-You-Dream-Color-Insights/dp/1609804244/ref=la_B009ANLXCC_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1350921283&sr=1-1 Also this beautiful article for www.out.com is truly breathtaking, on how important is to be a strong, motivated and loving human being , although life hasn’t been kind with health nor does the music industry. I imagined myself ...

Camp Belvidere (2016) –lesbian short film- starring Astrid Ovalles and Molly Way

Image
I have been watching lots of short films with lesbian content, yet none has touched me so much like "Camp Belvidere" with Astrid Ovalles and Molly Way. It’s the story line and the strength of the characters that attracts and their clash ignites the burning flame between them. Loved the fact that’s set in the 1950’s in a girls’ camp, we have so little books, movies or any written evidence with lesbian content of that period that I actually grab every piece I find, yet I write only of the relevant."Am I making you nervous?, Gin says." "Camp Belvidere" is the story of Gin (Astrid Ovalles) and Rose (Molly Way), who meet at the girls’ camp Belvidere. Gin is the camp’s nurse, she’s in her 30’s, a beautiful, lonesome woman who seems to hide a certain secret,  it also can be seen  that she read and traveled a lot. Following the road less taken of lesbianism during the 1940-1950’s, Gin seems sad and hopeless towards any romantic interest, somehow asleep in her fe...

The fall –light lesbian content - Stella Gibson- starring Gillian Anderson

Image
Who's not in love with Gillian Anderson starring as Stella Gibson?! Speak now or forever hold your peace! She's sexy as hell and sexual and attractive as natural as she can be. I'm in awe. I still love her from kissing Archie Panjabi in  "The Good Wife". It's not just the black-noir subjects of "The Fall", it's the transfixed image of  Gillian Anderson converts Stella to. It's not just her attraction to women, it's the attraction of the watcher to her, she's smart, observative and far more intelligent than her male colleagues that are set somehow above her, although they're so much going under. Here's what she has to say when a fellow detective questions her about an emotionally detached one night stand with a handsome cop: "Man fucks woman. Subject: man; verb: fucks; object: woman. That's OK. Woman fucks man. Woman: subject; man: object. That's not so comfortable for you, is it?" When a constable wants to us...

Assigned to root out lesbians in the British military, a soldier turns from hunter to prey. Helen Baxendale stars as Caroline Meagher, was an up-and-coming staff sergeant in the Royal Military Police from 1978-1990 . Caroline eagerly accepts a plum assignment with the Special Investigative Branch. But her task—to root out and interrogate suspected lesbians—becomes a nightmare as she gradually awakens to the truth about her own heart’s desire. Gossip and hunches lead to searches of letters, diaries, photos, underwear drawers and more. Humiliating interrogations follow from her male colleagues, destroying careers and invading the privacy of women they wish to remove from the force. Caroline becomes more upset after her good friend Chrissie (Katrina Levon) comes out to her. When the two become lovers, Caroline is well aware of the secrecy that they must keep up if not to become victims themselves. The lesbian hunter is now a lesbian herself. Our investigator is eventually given new ...

Breaking the Girls (2013)

Image
A slightly odd fit for gay fests, “Breaking the Girls” falls into the retro category of erotic thrillers featuring bisexual characters whose gay involvements are considerably more sinister than their heterosexual ones. Smart but broke law-school student Sara ( Agnes Bruckner ) loses her bartending job, scholarship and university housing when snotty customer Brooke (Shanna Collins) rats her out for palming a few bucks from the tip jar at work — presumably because she thinks Sara has the hots on her nice-guy b.f., Eric ( Shawn Ashmore ). Sara is rescued, sort of, by party girl Alex (Madeline Zima), a wealthy wild child who encourages her new friend’s Sapphic tendencies. A tipsy Alex proposes that Sara kill Nina (Kate Levering), the disapproving spouse of Alex’s stepdad, David ( John Stockwell ), in exchange for her killing Brooke. Sara doesn’t take this offer seriously by Sara, but once Brooke turns up dead, it’s clear Alex is crazier than she seems (to Sara, at least — to viewers,...

Toy (2016) New Sapphic-themed movie

It tells the story of a young artist who falls in love with a 44 years old sex worker. Chloe is a talented but naive photographer which recently inherited the fortune of her deceased mother. She took over her wealth but also the thing that cost her mother’s life, which she desperately tries to hide as much as possible. As she is struggling to stay the course, Chloe is introduced to Kat through her new job, an high-class call girl who sees herself growing old and constantly losing clients. While the two women are fighting against their own demons to keep their heads above water, circumstances make them come closer to one another and start a new chapter of their respective life in decline. The film addresses sexuality in an exciting but also despairing angle. What makes ToY interesting is the difficult development of Chloe and Kat’s relationship throughout the scenario and their undeniable chemistry, but the end is very sad. Their characters are portrayed by Briana Evigan and Kerry Norto...

„ The Paying Guests”  is another marvelous novel by Sarah Waters. It involves a lesbian love affair, but at it’s root it’s a drama and a social satire set in after first World War times, mainly 1922.
