What was really fascinating within the story, were the opposites attract kind of characters and  also, the reasons how they were accidentally brought together  : Professor Nicole Hathaway’s book promotion tour and  because she needed an assistant to travel with all over the world. Actually, she chased away the rest of the assistants, because she didn’t want them. Lilly’s uncle brought them to work together as he knew Lily needed a break from the spotlight of the TV lawyer that chased her family’s dark past and that Nicole needed support for her voyage. Their different characters brought up sparks at their first meeting, but Lily landed in Nicole’s home and somehow having tea with her mother and sister was right. They develop a friendship that unavoidable turns into a wild attraction. Yet, until they realized they truly love each other, there’s a full amount of adventure and especially that they believe the other’s straight.  Lilly respects Nicole and hides her past and she’s afraid of ...

„The moon came out in an eerie blue, almost as if it were painted by the snow.” „Painted Moon”  appears an easy read, but it has it’s depths, especially in Jackie’s relationship with her mother and her eagerness to love, I mean, to be really in love and loved back, like in the fairytales, like in her mother’s art! The title is suggestive! I expected a painter, but not an architect. They have in common the passion for beauty and the passion for each other. It’s Thanksgiving and Jackie Frakes needs to take a break from her relationship with Parker for whom she moved across the country and found a job as an architect intern at a big firm. Unfortunately, her MG Sports Car (I din’t enjoyed the use of this althrough the story – it was a bit of overuse)couldn’t handle the power of a snow storm. At the end of the world...will you find me? „Carmilla” captured me in an amazing dark read, I must say I was impressed by the richness of the vocabulary of such a few pages write. The story and the characters, alltogether with the environment, are brilliantly exposed in an very unique and special way, somehow typicall for the 19 th century British novelists :  the way it was written was in such a possession of words that captures imagination,  reveals strong sensations and reflects the power of  the character, dark ones are always surrounded by a black mist of mystery and sensuality, although there’s the mystery and sensuality of death, as you can guess  the story, yet remain in awe if she get’s caught or will  live forever. “You must come with me, loving me, to death; or else hate me, and still come with me.”  „ Sometimes after an hour of apathy, my strange and beautiful companion would take my hand and hold it with a fond pressure, renewed again and again; blushing softly, gazing in ...

  N-am sa incep cu clasicul ce inseamna armonia pentru mine sau pentru altii, ci cugetam la ceea ce nu mai este. In trecut, poate si datorita societatii socialisto-comuniste in care am trait, poate si datorita educatiei primite si a observatiilor din familie, armonie inseamna sa fii o persoana puternica, stapana pe sine si pe situatia sinelui, dar mai ales al familiei, nu trebuie sa ai slabiciuni, slabiciunea costa, sau sentimentalisme, care te fac sa te simti slab/slaba, atat interior, cat si exterior individul trebuie sa fie puternic sa-si urmareasca cursul firesc conform  regulilor nescrise ale societatii in care traieste. In acest mod, fiecare persoana devenea mai frustrata si frustranta cu sine si cu cei din jur, relatiile de stima de sine si fata de ceilalti s-au deteriorat pe zi ce trece, deoarece persoana puternica ascunde slabiciuni profunde, pe care daca le-ar arata, despre care ar discuta si s-ar lasa ajutata de cei din jur, de cei cu experiente asemanatoare sau de speci...
