After Mrs Hamilton by Clare Ashton

Image
This book is a Pandora’s Box of surprisingly gifts of wonder! It took me half 2 days and 1 full night to read this magnificent Lesbian  novel! The main story is covered between present and past by the new generation being mislead by the past generation, yet destiny has the way of love to spread truth through lies on how the past hurts the present, mothers hurt children, yet one tenant remains the main suspense and the best character whatsoever! It is one of those books that doesn’t let you leave it from your hand. Every chapter holds a new twist, every lifestory stumbles into the other and love brings to light the worst of the past and the best of the present. Dark clouds of the past infuriatingly attack Mrs. Hamilton, dragging her soul in turmoil, while the most beautiful ray of love stumbles into her heart  with the most beautiful woman she could see, yet could she love Clo by forgiving the past ? The present containts characters with apparently no string to each other but passion and...

Ice by Lynn Gardner

Image
„Ice” is one of my favorite LGBT books so far. I enjoyed it so much, because of the amazing rush of the character’s temper, their personalities both private and professional are so different, yet still the’re drawn together by attraction, danger and above all, life rescue. Alex Blake and Maggie Campbell are police officers in the same station, but in different teams. Alex is a former model, stunning attractive and with a temper that blows your mind and patience because of her short temper and stuborness, she disobeys any rule and lives and works after her own rules. Her soft side is shown through Sadie, her terrier that she loves so very much.  And her broken heart suffers after being together with a woman that ended up cheating on her with a man and Alex swore she would never love a straight woman....until she meets Maggie. „Alex Blake had worked for the Met since the age of twenty-two. Born and raised in Surrey, she had grown up among the rich and famous, and before she had reached t...

Reasonable doubt – Carsen Taite

Image
„Reasonable doubt”  is an awesome romance thriller with twists and turns and two marvelous characters. As the author, Carsen Tate, has already made me love criminal law and all the world involved in it, this novel makes no exceptions. It is the story of Ellery and Sarah, caught in the middle of their life changing jobs and searching for a new life, concetrated on their passions turned into work and especially for a private life that they’ve didn’t payed so much attention  all this time. You notice I talk of them together from the start, because that was the way I saw them from the begining of the story. Sarah Flores is a FBI Behavioral Analyst that is haunted by awful dreams generated by the daily crime scenes she has to face and need a change of job, place and heart. She moves to Dallas and enters a fraud unit and although she believes it will be dull, she’s enchanted by a 9 to 5 daylight job and to spare her freetime in the search of the love of her life. „Sarah watched the door close...

Love By The Numbers by Karin Kallmaker

Image
What was really fascinating within the story, were the opposites attract kind of characters and  also, the reasons how they were accidentally brought together  : Professor Nicole Hathaway’s book promotion tour and  because she needed an assistant to travel with all over the world. Actually, she chased away the rest of the assistants, because she didn’t want them. Lilly’s uncle brought them to work together as he knew Lily needed a break from the spotlight of the TV lawyer that chased her family’s dark past and that Nicole needed support for her voyage. Their different characters brought up sparks at their first meeting, but Lily landed in Nicole’s home and somehow having tea with her mother and sister was right. They develop a friendship that unavoidable turns into a wild attraction. Yet, until they realized they truly love each other, there’s a full amount of adventure and especially that they believe the other’s straight.  Lilly respects Nicole and hides her past and she’s afraid of ...

Painted Moon by Karin Kallmaker

Image
„The moon came out in an eerie blue, almost as if it were painted by the snow.” „Painted Moon”  appears an easy read, but it has it’s depths, especially in Jackie’s relationship with her mother and her eagerness to love, I mean, to be really in love and loved back, like in the fairytales, like in her mother’s art! The title is suggestive! I expected a painter, but not an architect. They have in common the passion for beauty and the passion for each other. It’s Thanksgiving and Jackie Frakes needs to take a break from her relationship with Parker for whom she moved across the country and found a job as an architect intern at a big firm. Unfortunately, her MG Sports Car (I din’t enjoyed the use of this althrough the story – it was a bit of overuse)couldn’t handle the power of a snow storm. Here’s where Leah Beck comes to the rescue, together with her dog. She hosts Jackie for a couple of days and they don’t really connect at first beeing so different, yet there’s a spark of passion that ...

Carmilla - The female Vampire Story before Dracula

Image
At the end of the world...will you find me? „Carmilla” captured me in an amazing dark read, I must say I was impressed by the richness of the vocabulary of such a few pages write. The story and the characters, alltogether with the environment, are brilliantly exposed in an very unique and special way, somehow typicall for the 19 th century British novelists :  the way it was written was in such a possession of words that captures imagination,  reveals strong sensations and reflects the power of  the character, dark ones are always surrounded by a black mist of mystery and sensuality, although there’s the mystery and sensuality of death, as you can guess  the story, yet remain in awe if she get’s caught or will  live forever. “You must come with me, loving me, to death; or else hate me, and still come with me.”  „ Sometimes after an hour of apathy, my strange and beautiful companion would take my hand and hold it with a fond pressure, renewed again and again; blushing softly, gazing in ...
