Scandal in the wind by KT Grant

Image
I was curious to read “Scandal in the wind” by KT Grant, because some time ago, I read a similar book: “Her most secret affair” by Jesalin Creswell, not because I wanted to compare them, but because I wanted to see the authors’ different view on a similar subject. “Her most secret affair” by Jesalin Creswell Publication Date:  June 26 th, 2015 “Scandal in the wind” by KT Grant Published November 4th 2011 by Ravenous Romance Although it was published later in 2015,  “Her most secret affair” by Jesalin Creswell was the one I read first and I was impressed by the rich language and metaphors used and also by the beautiful story and a small lack of turning points. I cannot certainly say it was inspired by “Scandal in the wind” by KT Grant, but hint it surely is, yet still I am in awe on how I can read two books by different authors on the almost same subject and be impressed and love both points of view and stories. I loved “Scandal in the wind” by KT Gra...

Eyes like those (Seven Shores Series #1) by Melissa Brayden

Image
When I started reading "Eyes like those" by Melissa Brayden, I was aware it was the first book of a series regarding young, lesbians in love in Venice beach. Each book involves one of the amazing woman from the breakfast group at Cat's pijamas ran by Autumn. "Eyes like those" is about soap opera Hollywood producers and writers Isabel Chase and Taylor Andrews. Isabel is a newbie talented writer who luckily gets hired by Taylor as a writer for the soap opera she produces. Although, throughout the book, we get along with Isabel's evolution as a person and as a writer, in my eyes, the real main character is Taylor. From the start, in Taylor Andrews , I saw a beautiful, strong talented producer and writer, in one word a successful Hollywood star. She runs the show with an iron fist, yet she had one flaw : Aspen, the main character of the show, with whom Taylor had a relationship in the past and she isn't over Taylor, out of spite, demanding attention, almo...

Becks 2017

Image
Based on the true story of Allyssa Robbins. It is the about the life and adventures of a  Brooklyn musician moves (Lena Hall) back in with her Midwestern mother to her childhood home in St. Louis after a crushing breakup with her longtime girlfriend (Hayley Kiyoko). While performing for tips at a local tavern and struggling to reconnect with her ultra-Catholic mother (Christine Lahti), she strikes up a unique friendship with the wife (Mena Suvari) of an old nemesis. Becks begins to discover her musical voice as she performs deeply personal songs about her ex and the loss of their relationship. Driven by an original score, the film’s musical numbers bring a unique new voice to the American musical movie. What  Becks  does very well is having a lesbian protagonist whose raison d’être is not simply to  be  a lesbian. Perhaps that’s because co-writer Rebecca Drysdale is an out gay woman and also a talented humorist who knows how to writ...
